What is this number for that is on the right side of a tree person’s profile?
It is a unique identifier for each person in the tree. It also serves as the basis for the URL to the person in your tree - that URL can be shared if the person is deceased. FamilySearch Family Tree also works similarly; they assign each person a unique ID and that ID is used as part of the permanent URL to access the person’s profile. Hope that helps!
